Matthew McConaughey Will Bury Placenta

Bizarre as it sounds Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves are planning on burying their baby's placenta soon. They plan to bury it in an Australian orchard. McConaughey told Dr. Sanjay Gupta on his CNN show that it's an aboriginal custom to bury the placenta as a fertility rite. He said that when he was in Australia he saw a tree where women buried their placentas and it was a "huge behemoth of just health and strength." Adding, "It's going to be in the orchards and it's going to bear some wonderful fruit," McConaughey said in an interview transcript.

Angelina Jolie Delivers Twins, A Boy and Girl

Angelina Jolie gave birth to a boy, Knox Leon, and a girl, Vivienne Marcheline, by Caesarean section last night around 8pm France time. Her OBGYN told the AP on Sunday morning that the boy weighed a little over 5 pounds and the girl 5 pounds. Pitt was there during the operation, said the doctor, who delivered the twins at the seaside Lenval hospital in Nice in southern France. "Everything is going well," said doctor Michel Sussmann. "The mother, the babies, the father are doing marvelously well."

Sussman said he believed the baby girl's middle name was chosen in honor of Jolie's mother, actress Marcheline Bertrand, who died in January 2007 after a 7 1/2-year battle with cancer.

The town's local paper, Nice Matin, broke news of the babies arrival and says the couple will sell exclusive rights to the first pictures of the babies to a U.S. publication (my guess is People magazine) and proceeds will go to charity. Prior to the birth the couple moved into an estate in the French hamlet of Miraval in Correns (60 miles from Nice) which is just a short helicopter ride to the hospital.

Tom Cruise Sends Ex Nicole Kidman Baby Gifts

Tom and Nicole are no longer married but it seems they still remain on speaking terms because Tom recently sent a baby gift basket to Nicole and Keith Urban who welcomed their baby girl, Sunday Rose, in Nashville on Monday morning. The gift basket contained chenille Giraffe baby blankets and essentials from the Hermes baby line.

Jamie Lynn Spears Sets Bad Example For Teens

Jamie Lynn Spears is Britney Spears' teenage sister who just gave birth to her baby girl Maddie last month. Since having her baby she's been giving Ok! Magazine exclusive coverage of her motherhood experience which she claims is fun. So, in a sense she's telling her youthful fan base that it's ok for unmarried young teens to have babies of their own. Is she seriously giving fans the impression that being a constant slave to a screaming, uncontrollable, at times stinky, newborn is fun for teens to do? I sure hope not but Ok! Magazine is reportedly paying her $1 million for personal interviews and pictures.
