Make Re-Usable Activity Pages For Your Child

Kids aren't cheap and as parents we are always looking for easy ways to save money on their toys, gear, clothing and everything else. The word re-usable usually catches any parent's attention and  this idea is perfect for a young toddler who loves to doodle all over the place (including your mail, check-book and whatever else he can get his hands on) or for the more experienced tot learning how to trace simple shapes.

Go to your office supply store and grab some "page protectors." Page protectors are clear plastic sleeves that are usually used in portfolios to display a person work. Get the kind that has the 3-holes punched right in so you can keep them in a binder. Then grab some dry erase markers that are made for children, like Crayolas. Now your toddler is ready to doodle to his heart's content. When he's done with one page, erase it and doodle again!

For the more experienced toddler, print out some simple shapes and alphabet letters for him to trace. You can even tear out pages from an activity book or coloring book for more ideas and endless fun!

Marshmallows meet sprinkles

Here's a fun project for those who love crafts and sweets. It's fairly simple, just insert a popsicle stick in big marshmallows, dip the fluffy pillows in melted chocolate, then dip in candy coating and let cool on a cookie sheet lined with aluminum foil. Get the detailed instructions here.

Seashell activity

I found this seashell craft for kids on Martha Stewart's website and I think I'll have to try them out on my nieces! They're staying one whole week during their winter break and this will keep them busy! Seashells are easy to come by and fairly inexpensive, I ordered a few varieties inlcuding a bulk mix bag at Sea Shell City. See the directions here.
