Tough & Sturdy Dabbawalla Bags

Dabba WabbaBy now the school year is in full swing but in the midst of hunting down back-to-school supplies, escorting your children to birthday parties, work and everything else life throws at you, you actually forgot to grab a new back-pack. So, your child is still using his pack from the year prior which has two new tears making the total 7. Well, if your child is in need of a new pack we highly recommend Dabbawalla Bags.

Dabba2 Flexible and strong, Dabbawalla Bags are crafted entirely from neoprene, a versatile, washable, material that insulates and protects. Tough enough to take a lot of rough-and-tumble yet stylish enough to standout from the crowd, the bags are designed for children and child-minded adults who like to combine style with practicality. The water- and stain-resistant fabric keeps food cold for hours and is completely machine-washable. Inside and outside pockets provide extra convenience for stashing gear, and the backpack straps adjust from the inside to fit toddlers to tweens. Available at www.dabbawallabags.com and at specialty children's and gift retailers throughout the U.S.

Fab Find: Connectagon

Hearthsongtree  Bright kids need bright toys to keep their little minds cranking and learning. We recently stumbled over this toy in a catolog iconand thought it's worth sharing with our readers.

This set includes 240 pieces containing solid colors and varying geometric shapes that connect together to form anything your child imagines from Christmas trees, houses, cubes, animal and more. The options for creative construction are "plane" to see, especially since they're designed to connect with and color-complement Connectagons - and construct new dimensions in fun. Includes a wooden box with a sliding top to keep all pieces together when not in use.

Express Youself

Cali Now here's a funky little way to spell out your child's name: with city art. Designer Mindy Martinsen collaborates with clients to produce a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork that depicts your (or your child's) name with original photos of eye-catching letters or objects that form abstract letters within a city or town. How clever! This is definitely a great alternative to ho-hum wooden letters and will make such a lovely conversation piece. Do check out Mindy's work at City Art Photography!

Wanna win a piece of Mindy's work? Be the 18th person to email info (at) bebereviews.com with City Art in the subject line :-)

Buckley Boo

Buckley Young toddlers need lots hands-on activities to expand both their fine motor skills and gross motor skills. Lucky for you we've unearthed a brand new toy that will give your child lots of fine motor skill practice. Meet Buckly Boo, a super-soft pal that features 5 different puzzle buckles that allows your child to practice snapping.

Buckling a buckle is much more than just a snap. The process of buckling involves hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness and problem-solving skills. Conceived and designed in collaboration with a child psychologist, BuckleyBoo facilitates early childhood development and actually grows with your child. Between the ages of 1 and 3 your child can practice buckling the buckle and after 3 your child begins to understand how to un-buckle.

We had an opportunity to examine this item in person and highly recommend it. The stuffed animal is super-soft, a good size for towing around, makes a great companion in the car and a comfort item during bed-time. At first thought we noticed Buckley Boo is similar to a Montessori activity (a board with regular buttons and button holes) preschool teachers use to teach children an aspect of fine motor skills. This toy definitely will advance your child's learning and appreciation for puzzles.
